Ben Rogan

Ben Rogan, President applies over 20 years of construction, property and development management experience to Highland's strategic direction. Ben has managed over $60M in projects from commercial renovation projects to ground-up, mixed-use developments in the educational, commerical, industrial, medical and life sciences industries. Prior to founding Highland, Ben gained extensive experience in public and privately held real estate investment companies for the development and construction of numerous national and local projects. Ben earned a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology and a MBA from Boston College. He also served as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and is a Licensed Construction Superintendent.

Massimo Guarino is a professional accountant and financial advisor with over 20 years of experience in the construction management industry. Massimo specializes in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, insurance, bonding, and internal controls. He oversees financial reporting and analysis, while working closely with the team to monitor the financial success of projects. As part of the Executive team, Massimo also develops and implements policies and procedures. Prior to joining the Highland team, Massimo worked with William A Berry and Charter Contracting Company. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Finance and Economics from Salem State College, a MBA from Suffolk University, and a certificate in Government Contracting from George Mason University.

Matthew McDougall

PROJECT MANAGER

Joining the team in 2015, Matt brings an array of professional and academic experience to his position as Project Manager at Highland Development. On a daily basis, Matt assists the company with the development and execution of assignments. He is a vital part of the progression of projects, assisting in site walks, obtaining and submitting required documentation, and preparing work pricing scopes. Matt provides attention to detail every step of the way to ensure quality results. Holding his Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Westfield State University, Matt is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Project Management from Northeastern University. His previous employers include BMR Contracting, where he was an Assistant Project Manager on major projects at MIT and Northeastern University.

Paul Johansson

Paul offers over 30 years of construction experience including running a high-end residential company, in addition to working as site superintendent, field engineer and project manager for larger companies. Paul brings in-depth industry knowledge, a hands-on approach, team spirit and can-do attitude to the team. Prior to Highand , Paul also served as a noncommissioned officer in the Norwegian Army, Infantry division. He moved to USA in 1991 and received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from University of Kentucky. He worked with The Bristol Group completing several new office complexes and large tilt-up concrete warehouses. With Shawmut Design and Construction, Paul successfully delivered high-end Boston housing projects and numerous projects for Harvard University, Yale, MIT and several private High Schools in New England.

DIRECTOR OF PRECONSTRUCTION

Bobby oversees the preconstruction of new developments, historic renovations, commercial office fit-outs, retail, restaurant & other projects located within existing buildings. Bobby is also responsible for assisting Project Managers with various aspects of the construction process including but not limited to; creating project schedules, submittals, meeting minutes, requests for information, change orders, etc. He also serves as a utility employee taking on various marketing projects, real estate development analysis & business development. Prior to joining Highland, he was a special projects division Estimator with Lee Kennedy Company and a graduate of Clarkson University with a B.S. in Engineering & Management with a minor in Project Management.

Wayne joined Highland Development in 2008 and brings over 20 years of commercial field operations experience to the Team. Wayne is a hardworking, thoughtful, dedicated builder and has constructed numerous commercial and residential projects to include life sciences, mixed-use, multi-family residential and excels when working in complex occupied urban buildings.
